Sex-based discrimination and sexual harassment against students of educational institutions is prohibited under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as well as under other federal and state laws, local ordinance, and school board policy.
It is the policy of the Juneau School District not to discriminate with respect to sex, race, religion, color, ethnic group, national origin, gender identity and expression, physical or mental disability, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, citizenship status, or any other classification protected by law in educational or employment programs, policies, or activities. This policy is in compliance with Federal Title IX regulations, which deal with gender discrimination in the public schools.
District programs and activities shall be free from discrimination with respect to Title IX regulations that deal with all employees and students.
