| Juneau School District | |||||
| There are six elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school (plus alternative and charter schools) serving over 5,000 students in the Juneau School District. | |||||
| The district is fairly progressive. In addition to a movement towards standards based curriculum, the district has been experimenting with alternative ways of reporting student performance, including electronic report cards and student portfolios. | |||||
| Juneau supports technology in education. The voters have approved multi-million dollar technology bonds, and consequently we have decent computers and other technology, including schools that are completely wired for the internet. This wise choice by the community has created a great opportunity for its students. | |||||
