Michaela earned her Bachelors of Education in Theatre and English from Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. She also earned a Masters in Library Science dergee from University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

Michaela taught High School English and Theatre for 3 years in Texas and was an elementary school librarian so she could be in the same school as her children.

JDHS is Michaela's first Alaskan teaching assigment and she has been teaching here since 2006. Her first year she taught English classes and now teaches in both the English and Theatre Department.
