Welcome to Juneau-Douglas High School

HAVE A SAFE AND FUN SUMMER!

First Day of school for JDHS Students is Tuesday, August 24, 2010
See you then.......

From Principal Kuhlmann's Desk

By the time you read this message, our seniors will have completed their graduation ceremony.  The Class of 2010 held a high standard for themselves and worked hard to accomplish their goals.  Academically the Class of 2010 was very solid with more than twenty students earning over a 3.9 GPA.  Just under thirty-four percent of the senior class earned at least a 3.5 GPA.  And as you might recall, the Class of 2010 provided the leadership on the court, in the classroom, in the arena, on the field, and on the track, to participate in many regional championships and to earn several state championships.  Congratulations.  I have confidence that these students will serve their generation well and make a positive mark on our society.

The future classes are well positioned to continue in the great traditions of JDHS. Students are enrolling in more challenging and advanced classes, taking more than their required number of credits, and increasing their attendance in classes.  Students have a sense of ownership in their performances, accomplishments, and work.  Congratulations to all of you.

Parents, business partners, and staff members firmly support the needs of our students and celebrate with them.  Juneau-Douglas High School teachers, support personnel, and administrative staff have a passion for what they do for students and the Juneau community.  Juneau School District is very proud of everything you do on behalf of the students.

Enjoy the summer.  In the words of our superintendent, Glenn Gelbrich, the ending is a beginning.  We enjoyed the ending and look forward to the new beginning.
