We have a group of 26 committed teachers, parents, community members and administrators working to ensure our Juneau students succeed as readers and writers! SECONDARY MATHEMATICS UPDATE: Our secondary mathematics committee begins their work to align our curriculum and instructional materials to our new higher standards. The committee's first meeting was January 17, 2014. We have experienced professional learning around the new standards. We have been told by teachers our old materials do not align to the new standards. So, our process of looking deeply at materials for standard alignment has begun. Stay tuned for updates! Our renewal team of teachers are working hard and take their job very seriously. SPRINGBOARD SECONDARY ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS CURRICULUM: Adopted June 2013 The curriculum renewal team selected SpringBoard for the grade 6-12 instructional materials. SpringBoard is a college and career readiness program for ALL students from College Board. SpringBoard provides a research-based and research-proven path to college or career readiness, including Advanced Placement courses. SpringBoard makes rigor accessible to ALL learners through a framework that integrates instructional materials, performance-based assessments and professional development.
