In addition, the committee includes all seven school board members as non-voting members. A school board member along with a community representative will jointly chair the committee.
The full committee will meet six times, beginning in January 2014 to learn about the District budget, review proposals made by the Superintendent, and hear testimony from the community. Meetings will be January 7, 21, 28 and February 4,12, 25 in the Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School Library from 6:00 - 8:00 pm.
On March 4, 20134 the Budget Committee will make its own budget recommendation to the Board of Education. The Board then approves a final budget and submits it to the City and Borough of Juneau.
