The JDHS Drama Debate Forensics Team won State Drama for the 2nd time this past weekend at the State DDF Competition in Anchorage. JDHS won 2 years ago, and after coming in 2nd last year, this year won it back. The JDHS Team placed 2nd in the Forensics at State this year.
Along with the State Drama Champions Team award, many individual students brought home additional titles and top placements:
- Taylor Vidic, Aria Moore, Angela Wright, Roxie Hildebrand, & Cheyenne Siverly are the State Champions in Reader's Theatre (they performed a wonderful cutting from Little Shop of Horrors)
- Ellen Dyar is the State Champion in Dramatic Interpretation with a cutting from the best selling YA novel Unwind by Neil Shusterman
- Claire Dyar, David Mendivil, & Colton Welch received 5th place in Reader's Theatre
- David Mendivil received 3rd place in Pantomime
- David Mendivil and Cheyenne Siverly placed 3rd in Duet Acting
- Taylor Vidic placed 5th in Humorous Interpretation
- Taylor Vidic and Ellen Dyar placed 7th in Duo Interpretation
- Roxie Hildebrand placed 7th in Solo Acting
- Ruby Steedle placed 4th in Original Oration
- Orion Cohen placed 3rd in Extemporaneous Commentary Speaking
- Leo Steedle placed 5th in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking
- Macrina Erickson placed 4th Speaker in Public Forum Debate
